Volunteers Needed!
Our nonprofit, “Hill Country Senior Center” receives a small portion of our budget through CAPCOG and through the Hays County Commissioner’s Court. The Primary Source of our Operating Budget comes from our Thrift shop. Our manager, Leann Tock, and our Assistant Managers, Joyce Scott and Yolanda Kish, have really improved and updated our store, since taking over last year. We have volunteer opportunites for all; sorting clothes, books, and housewares, staging furniture, pricing handbags and shoes, and making a profit to support the seniors who attend our Center across the parking lot. Plus volunteers receive a 20% discount on all items they purchase and a free lunch!
We receive outstanding donations, but there are some items we will not take: Mattresses, large appliances, paint, pianos, large entertainment units, chemicals, stained-dirty or cat-peed furniture, or any heavy item over 150 pounds.
REMINDER: Do NOT drop off Trash!!! The time and expense of getting rid of other people's trash takes away from the Senior Center. Saleable items only.
